Authorities said two doctor out-of-state who traveled to Maryland to perform late-term abortions have been arrested and charged with several counts of murder, use of an unusual law that allows for the cost of murder in the death of the fetus is viable.
Dr. Steven Brigham, of Voorhees, NJ, was taken into custody Wednesday night and detained in prison Camden County, according to police in Elkton, MD. authorities also arrested Dr. Nicola Riley in Salt Lake City and he is in jail in Utah. Each pending extradition hearings.
The jury was charged two doctors after a 16-month investigation, police said.
